Rail Fence Tote



Looking for a quick project that looks great and uses a charm pack?
Come take a class in the new shop location!
Kim is teaching a series of bag-making classes. All you need is a charm pack of 5" squares and another fabric for accents and lining. 
This roomy tote is a great size and will make a great gift for yourself or a friend!

*Feel free to bring a light lunch or snack since we will most likely run till 1.  Please nothing messy, we will be snacking (if needed) while finishing our table runner.

There are some cutting directions prior to class- call, email, or stop in to get a head start!

Skill Details:
You will learn to make a tote using 5" squares (charm pack) and another coordinating fabric. You will want to make these again and again! Participants should know how to use a rotary cutter and ruler, and be able to sew an accurate 1/4" seam on their sewing machine.
Materials Included:
We will have a limited supply of irons and pressing boards. The class includes the pattern, interfacing, and 4 hours of instruction. You are welcome to stay until the shop closes at 4 to continue working on your project.
Requirements:
Supplies needed: A sewing machine in working order that you know how to use Thread that matches your project. There will be some topstitching. 3-4 bobbins wound and ready to go. Rotary cutter & small mat Pins Fabric needed: 1 Charm pack 1 1/2 yd coordinating fabric for outer bag/lining/pocket/straps. *If you would like your lining a separate color you will need 3/4 yd for lining and 3/4 yd for rest of bag 28"x48" batting Optional supplies: Fabric marking pen or pencil Machingers (these are used for the bag quilting portion) Sewing clips
